ABOUT ME
Find out more about me and my local voluntary work.
My name is Callum Naylor, and I will be standing to be your Councillor for Birkdale at the forthcoming Local Election in May 2026.
I was born in Southport Hospital and raised in Birkdale, and I am proud to have called Birkdale my home for the last 24 years. I attended local Birkdale schools – Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, and Christ The King High School & Sixth Form Centre. I continued my studies at the University of Oxford, where I achieved an undergraduate degree before returning to live in Birkdale.
- My application to Penguin Books for a community Book Box was successful and I am now steward of this community facility which is now installed in Bedford Park.

- For the past two seasons, I have volunteered at Southport Football Club on match days and have also supported various community events held at Haig Avenue.

- As a member of ‘Friends of Bedford Park’, I am actively involved in community events, such as ‘Santa’s Grotto’, the popular ‘Easter Egg Hunt’, and the annual Summer Family Fun Day.
- Along with Councillor Sonya Kelly, I was part of a small team that successfully secured a £1,400 grant from Merseyside Police, funded through proceeds of crime, for community use and the enhancement of facilities at Bedford Park.

- I am regularly involved in local efforts to keep the area clean and free from litter.
- I engage with local community events - including volunteering for a local Food Bank, defibrillator training, and stewarding for traditional events in Birkdale.
- For many years, I was a volunteer at the Queenscourt Hospice Boxtree Café.

I am already committed to being a visible and accessible point of contact for all Birkdale Ward residents. I value your voice and input, which have already played a crucial role in shaping my understanding of our issues, including local service improvements, environmental concerns and further developing community facilities.
