Latest update on the ‘Half-Barrier Crossing’ at Crescent Road / Grosvenor Road - following on from the previous update in December
December: www.facebook.com/share/p/1CCdmYrLGFLEVEL CROSSING ANNOUNCEMENT
I am so pleased to say we are finally getting double barriers at the Crescent Road level crossing. I have received news this morning that the funding has been approved, and they are hoping to award the contract in the next few weeks. The new crossing should be commissioned May 2027. The single barrier level crossing has been recognised for a while as needing an upgrade, and thanks to the help of Patrick Hurley MP for Southport we are now getting a successful outcome.
Contrary to what some people are saying, I am re-standing in Birkdale in the May elections and I hope I can continue working hard in the community for the residents of Birkdale and Southport. ... See MoreSee Less

📕 Bedford Park Little Book Stop Update
Unfortunately, this morning I received news that the perspex window has separated from the door and a latch has been removed.
I have recovered all the books before the rain arrived. The box is temporarily out of action until I can find someone to carry out the repairs.
Thank you for your support, I will provide an update once the box is restored!

On May 15th, the mane man takes on Aintree.
Southport FC & The Community Foundation are calling on every Sandgrounder to back the mane man. Let’s turn those Lord Street lunges into life-saving funds!
